That little plus sign says it all. We’re pregnant with our second child!
This might explain the missing posts over the past couple of weeks. I’ve been feeling…well not so great, let’s just say that. Some days are better than others, but if you’ve ever been pregnant or know someone who has, you know it can be a bit tough at the beginning.
I know there are some questions that most people tend to ask right away, so I’ll just go ahead and answer them here.
How far along are you?
I’m officially 11 weeks pregnant now. I know that means we’ve known for nearly 7 weeks, but I couldn’t tell everyone just yet until our families knew the news. I really didn’t want the immediate family finding out through Facebook.
How are you feeling?
Like I said, some days are better than others. Overall, I’m doing fine. Luckily, I get no vomiting – didn’t with my first pregnancy and haven’t yet with this one. But, I have had a lot of nausea and am constantly tired! I have to really push myself to get anything done and don’t have much energy most days.
How is the big sister doing?
We waited to tell our baby girl until after our first prenatal appointment. We wanted to be sure that all was progressing well so far before letting her know. We came home from our appointment and promptly shared the news with her and showed her a picture of the first sonogram. She was ecstatic! She right away wanted to tell her abuela, and wanted to talk to the baby. It was wonderful to see her so excited and jumping and running around because she was happy to hear the news.
Since then, she continues to be excited. Every day she talks to the baby, tells him/her jokes, and kisses the baby. She continually has told us that she’s very excited she’s going to be a big sister, and she’s so happy I have a baby in my tummy. It’s “what she always wished for,” she told me the other night.
What is your due date?
Our new baby should be here in mid-December. He or she will be born around the same time as our baby girl turns 5. It’s going to be a busy holiday season for us!
We’re all very excited, really and I’m looking forward to progressing through this pregnancy and sharing it with you. I didn’t have a blog when pregnant with my daughter, so this is exciting and new to me too – to be able to document the pregnancy!
And with that…I leave you, since I now have to take a nap from having used up all my energy on this blog post.

Thanks! I'm doing great at drinking water…of course, that creates another issue with too many bathroom trips. LOL

Hi sweetie. You’re better off taking another test and checking with your doctor to be sure. I wouldn’t be able to tell you. Good luck!
