34 Weeks Pregnant

33 weeks pregnantAs I write this, I am dealing with some contractions. Fake ones…I think. It’s been happening a lot recently. Every so often, I get the tight feeling, the pressure, and the overall discomfort. It makes for an interesting walk, actually. I suppose my body is preparing for what’s to come.

We’re only a few weeks away from being the parents of two children! And, by a few weeks, I mean anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks. I’m now 34 weeks pregnant and a healthy full-term baby could come our way at 37 weeks. Our c-section, though, won’t be scheduled until 39 weeks. So, at this point, it’s a guessing game.

I still can’t believe how fast this pregnancy went! It seems like just the other day, I shared with you that I was pregnant. But, it’s been a busy past few months, which has helped time pass. Now, I’m on super-slow mode.

Remember how I said I was feeling useless? Well, that hasn’t entirely gone away, but I’m coming to terms with it. There’s only so much I can do at this point without my over-bulging belly taking over and screaming out to me, “Stop!” in the form of various pains. Our family has adjusted and I’ve found ways to get around it.

Truthfully, now, I’m really looking forward to seeing this baby boy and welcoming him to our family. His personality remains to be seen, but I’ve got a feeling he’ll be making himself known – he already does from within the belly. This is something that pleases his daddy and every time I tell our baby to “calm down, you’re hurting mami,” my husband just smiles away.

By the way, though I laughed it off, it’s never nice to say “Man! You’re HUGE!” to a very pregnant lady. Keep that in mind, ok? (The husband didn’t say this. He knows better.)

Pregnancy

I have been dealing with Braxton Hicks contractions for a few weeks now, something that took some getting used to since I didn’t really experience them with my first pregnancy. But, these pains were different. They were happening more often and hanging […]
